I'm going to London!

Today I leave the Schloss and head off to London!! I am so excited! When we leave today we are moving around for the next 6 weeks, so it is going to be a long but amazing time! A couple of days ago I went back to the doctor and got rid of my boot! I am wearing shoes and back to normal. My foot doesn't hurt the majority of the time, it is more the fact that my calf needs to catch up with my other leg. I am so happy to be back to normal, I can't imagine being on crutches for these next 6 weeks.
The past few days we have not done much except for hang out in the castle. Mittersill, the town we are in is really small and the walk down is ridiculous so we just hang out here. This castle is amazing and I am really excited that we get to come back here before we go home.
In the next few weeks we are traveling on Ryan air which has ridiculous weight requirements, so I took my one bag I have for 4 months and took almost 20 pounds out of it. I am a pro at packing now and I can say now that I will want to burn all of my clothing by the time I get home!
I will keep you guys updated, now that I am moving around I will definitely have a lot to tell!
Kay

  1. Yay for London! I loved visiting there -- it was so beautiful and historic. :) Will you have time to take in any shows?!

Also, you are going to love Ryan air -- it is quite the experience. Enjoy the little "duh duh na naaaa....another on time flight for Ryan Air!" at the end.

I am so excited for you Kay -- what an amazing experience!

  2. If you see Colin Firth, tell him that his true love awaits him in Iowa. ;)

Have an AMAZING time Kay Kay.

Also, I feel that Ryan Air is designed to make babies cry. You'll have to let me know if babies cry on your flights. Safe travels.

  3. Hey Kay- Glad your foot is getting better. I am hoping this post will go, for whatever reason I am never able to leave a message for you. I have no experience on Ryan Air but it sounds like a treat to fly (crying babies, stupid weight restrictions, annoying jingles....). Enjoy some authentic Fish and Chips for me please with some Watties Tomato Sauce.
I am home sick today dealing with silly parent emails such as "I just don't understand why a 3/5 is a D" and "My student has an A, is there any way she could get some extra credit to boost her grade?"
Hope you have safe travels and as they say in England "Mind the Gap"!

  4. Erin's post reminded me of another thing -- especially for someone who already has broken their foot once on this trip, and that is that you need to look the opposite way of your instinct when crossing the street Kay :) They have nicely painted the streets with "Look Right" for you! You may have already encountered this in other countries over there...but I just thought it may help...haha. Take care!

  5. It's nice to know that if you were here, you would be able to use a rake and not use a flimsy excuse about crutches and getting a cast wet! Awesome experience for you..love hearing about your trip and seeing your pictures on facebook.

  6. Yay for two shoes! That will be a huge plus for six weeks of travelling. I'm sure your friend who always pushed your wheelchair is excited too!
